Kundalini Yoga
A Kundalini yoga class teaches in a specific sequence as Yogi Bhajan taught. Typically each class begins with working from the lower chakras (legs, feet, hip or spine) and progresses by tapping into each chakra, stimulating the flow of prana (life force) to the entire body. The practice teaches that Kundalini energy is not only to be raised but needs to complete the circuit and be brought down to earth again through the chakras with a heightened awareness.
Kundalini yoga classes are a dynamic experience of postures, pranayama, mantra, music and meditation, teaching you the art of relaxation, self-healing and elevation. Through the practice of Kundalini yoga and meditation, the creative potential is heightened. Inner vitality replaces the adverse effects of stress. While the exercise component of yoga can work the body very well, that is only secondary. Kundalini yoga works on the nervous and endocrine system – balancing and rejuvenating one’s entire being, creating emotional healing.
